DISCUSSION OF CONGRESS MEETING, OTHER MATTERS

SC members discussed possible sites for the September Congress meeting, and suggested the Rockawalkin Hall, Salisbury University, and the new Community Foundation building. Consensus emerged that we should seek an appropriate situs at the University, and Mr. Burnett offered to make inquiry about a meeting room to hold up to 120 persons.

Mr. Ireton indicated that he would draft a Report on proceedings to date for County Executive Pollitt to be presented on June 12; Mr. Pretl will collaborate on that Report. It will contain the community concerns and guidelines which the SC has developed, and also recite the items postponed for determination by the Congress.

Next ensued a preliminary discussion of the agenda for the September Congress - including a possible keynote speaker, neighborhood presentation(s), creation of committees, etc. The Congress should draft its own membership structure, and discuss the guidelines that the SC has presented. Perhaps new Congress committees should nominate the officers, arrange meetings in the neighborhoods, discuss dues, etc.

Finally, the SC approved application forms for both the neighborhood/HOA and individual members; and SC members signed the invitation letters for the June 26 meeting.

There will be no meeting on June 12, but the SC will reconvene on June 19 to go over the agenda and presentations for June 26.

ADJOURNED at 8:35 PM.
